I studied industrial engineering at the Leibniz University in Hanover, majoring in production technique and controlling. During my studies, I could gain experience as an intern in the area of production and quality and also as a student assistant. I completed my studies in 2020 with a Master of Science, and started working at hahn,consultants immediately thereafter.

A position for a junior consultant was advertised on an online jobs portal and piqued my interest. I took a closer look at the homepage as well as the testimonials and the application process and applied with hahn,consultants. It is important to me that I can develop professionally and personally in my working life, something that is possible in the consulting industry thanks to the different projects. The selection process was very well structured. I received a prompt reply to my application and a near-time invitation for an interview. The atmosphere during the interview was very pleasant, and decisions were made quickly.

Immediately after starting with hahn,consultants, I was involved in project work. I was given a contact person to whom I could go with my queries at any time. All the other colleagues were also helpful, and their door was always open for me with any questions. With the help of the comprehensive in-house basic training held (concerning the market, service provision and finances) which all new employees undergo, I settled in quickly, which made my start in professional life a very positive experience.

Due to the different industries and tasks of the projects such as financial planning, market research or development of measures, new challenges occur all the time, as every project is different and work thus always stays interesting. In particular, I found a workshop during a restructuring concept on the company's market very enlightening, in which I was directly involved at h,c relatively at the beginning. It was challenging and very interesting for me to see the positive as well as the negative topics from different perspectives of the staff and to incorporate these findings into the concept.

I was fortunate enough to accompany a restructuring concept right from the beginning relatively quickly after I joined hahn,consultants. We worked a lot with clients on-site and held many workshops about the market and service provision with the employees. Apart from that, I find the ongoing support for existing clients during quarterly controls very interesting. In this way, I get to know the connections between the companies as well as the industries better and can thereby include some of my own consulting and improvement ideas early on.

Straight after my start at hahn,consultants I received much internal training to quickly understand the structures and processes. Internal training and subsequently working on a business case helped me to familiarise myself with the subject matter. Furthermore, participation in external, individually chosen training courses is offered. As my area of responsibility expands all the time, most of the development takes place in my work on different projects and the collaboration with different project teams on the job.

Since I joined, personal meetings and joint events have unfortunately been significantly reduced or cancelled due to corona. However, we met virtually so that I could get to know the colleagues in Haan better. And although we currently work more from home, all colleagues are contactable and available for any queries one might have. As the company culture will remain, especially the cultivation of direct contact with colleagues, and as I have already heard many positive things about joint activities such as Christmas parties, incentive weekends or carnival celebrations, I am looking forward to a time where these events will be held again to a greater extent.

In my free time, I play handball and like to meet with friends and family.
